Raja - in Emergency Care - UPDATE (Sunday, 10/25)

Hello..... Raj came home from the hospital on Friday morning. Mission Pet Hospital did a phenomenal job taking care of him, monitoring him for neuro issues and seeking expert medical advise to help pinpoint the problem. the diagnosis is a brain problem, either a tumor or swelling. Raj is on a few new meds and his mobility is improving a little bit every day. He still requires pretty constant monitoring..... We missed Pet Pride today, but Wonder Dog is being represented by the other amazing volunteers and board folks....

Ricky and her 3 Puppies - Avail. Nov. 21st

**UPDATE** we've found a GREAT foster home for these little guys and their Mom! please feel free to apply in advance/pre-screen for the Mom (s0o0o0o sweet!) or one of her pups (2 Males, 1 Female) - everyone will be ready for adoption on November 21st - can you think of a better Thanksgiving? terriers make better playmates than turkeys anyhoo...

as for their health, the three pups are now all steadily gaining weight and starting to eat canned food - healthy happy puppies just begging to get into trouble!

Madeline and Anette - Update

Amazing how life can change so much in a month! Last month these little pups were hairless and covered with yuk, now they are fuzzy, running around and driving me nuts (course I would not have it any other way!)

I took this last set of mange pictures only two weeks ago, and now you can barely tell they were sick. If you look close at the pups today there are only a few tiny patches where the fur has yet to grow in, everywhere else is soft and fuzzy. Now the pups are almost at the end of their stay in foster care and I've created an adoption listing for the girls (look under "New Animals" or search for "Madeline and Anette" for listing.) Fantastic!

so here are some pics from two weeks ago, look up current listing for new amazing pics. Healing is such a wonderful thing.

Madeline and Anette

these are a set of BEFORE pictures - before medicated bath, etc.

NOTE: the pups look terrible - thank goodness that was days ago and they are on their way to recovery (more pics soon)

It's Raining Puppies!!

it seems to be raining puppies as of late - i just can't wait to bring them out to meet new friends, and hopefully adoptive homes!

come one and all to Hayes Valley this Saturday to see as many sleepy/tail waggy/tonguey/happy puppies you can throw a stick for - SO EXCITED!!!

check our events listing for location and timing details.

Miss Tlz at it again!

truly our darling little Tilly has personality, frankly one of the reasons we adore her so much. she has her quirks, and issues, but we cope as best as we can whilst skipping down the puppy path, bully sticks in hand.

little dogs have attitude - at times they not only think they are larger dogs, they also act like it. they will mark, nip at other dogs approaching their "master," and generally misbehave for attention.

lately it has been pooping in the bathroom - 'but humanz, i am pooping in the BATHROOM!' - crafty isn't she?

truly, it is a little miss-behavior, even if stinky. she has her reasons, namely that her humans keep bringing over rescue dogs for "puppy slumber parties." we get it, Tlz, we understand the statement and sentiment. we get it already - every morning.

we will try harder, knowing that many animal behavior issues are caused by treatment or environment. we will take you out not only after dinner, but a few more times in the evening (even volunteers can be lazy after 10pm.) we will restrict access to the bathroom to break the habit, but know you are a smart little pup and will find another place (if we don't take you out before bed - bad humanz.)

concerning the other random orphans we bring home, well little Tlz, that is one you may just have to suck up. you have your treetop paradise to retreat to, which just happens to contain our comfy bed, and you get lots of cuddles and loves when we bring them in. your own space, love, and delicious delicious chicken - i mean, c'mon! remember, we brought you in too, you'll need to learn how to share (yes, even the bonez you completely ignore when other dogz aren't around.)
