Tiger Memorial Fund

The purpose of the Tiger memorial fund is to commemorate the passing of an amazing dog, Tiger. Friends of Tiger wanted to do something special for her, and we chose Wonder Dog Rescue as the charity because of all their great rescue work. The money donated in Tiger's name will be used for medical expenses for older and special needs dogs.

Tiger's Story

Jeff rescued Tiger from a pound in rural Pennsylvania in 1991. When he got her, she was miserable and dirty. He brought her home and proceeded to hose her off in the back yard. Tiger decided she didn't like that at all, and ran off! Jeff looked all over the place for her and couldn't find her anywhere. Finally, he found her sitting right by his truck, which was parked a couple blocks away. Since then they have been inseparable.

Jeff has made all of his career and travel plans with Tiger in mind. In the spirit of Steinbeck's "Travels with Charley," she has been across the country multiple times and traveled far and wide. She has lived in such places as Washington DC, Tallahassee, Seattle, New York City, and, of course, San Francisco. Jeff was even able to get the quarantine regulations bent a little on his six-month trip to Trinidad so that Tiger could join him.

Tiger lived a full and wonderful life as Jeff's constant companion. She died of old age on February 17, 2006. Jeff and Tiger's friends got together the week after to share memories and photos of Tiger... and Tiger's Fund was born.
