Cliff and Lisa have been caring for Powder Pete for a long time. This senior Peke came to us from the Martinez shelter. Because of his failing vision and horrid ear infections he was not really adoptable. Pete has been one of our Hospice dogs, living a good life with C & L for two years.

Pete began to decline a few months ago.... his appetite was erratic, and this was the beginning of a slow decline.

Today Cliff and Lisa are letting Pete go. It is obvious that his quality of life has diminished to a place where the kindest thing we can do is to euthanize him. It is never easy..... these critters give SO much love.

I want to acknowledge and thank Cliff and Lisa - they give so much to rescue, and to the dogs in their care. Pete's life has been good because of them. I know their hearts are heavy today, and I wish they could be spared this.
