A week ago one of our volunteers said she would foster Ruby.... a 5-6 year old lab mix at the Salinas shelter. Ruby was shut down in the shelter, wouldnt walk on a leash... she was terrified...... Thanks to the kindness and generosity of the volunteer, we were able to bring Ruby to SF.

Today I cried.... as I pulled into a parking space I saw Ruby gently walking alongside her foster mom. Her appetite is good.... she is growing healthy. She loves people and is great with other dogs.......

What a gift to give this beautiful dog a second chance at life. I'm so proud of what we do collectively...

and now it's up to YOU.... if you are looking for a sweet, gentle companion dog this is the girl for you. She's very easy going, not high energy..... she will reward your act of humanity with love and loyal companionship.
