We believe that Alfie is a young 2 or 3 year old 35 pound Bearded Collie Mix. He came to us very scared and didn't want people to even touch him. Now he comes up to you on his own accord and begs for belly rubs! HE is such a good dog, the type that would save someone from a burning building, maybe we should change his name to Lassie!

It's unbelievable that Alfie was once too scared to be touched. He snuggles, climbs into laps, doesn't mind baths, accepts treats and mellow petting from strangers, and LOVES above all else being brushed.

Alfie can be a little clingy and needs more independence, but he is learning to play with food-dispensing puzzle toys on his own and is gaining confidence by the day . To varying degrees, he can do sit, down, hold on, stay, back up, leave it, and come. (I suspect there's a trick dog somewhere in there -- he's a great jumper and not afraid to explore spaces when encouraged.) He's got housetraining down but needs at least a short walk a day to keep him task-focused.
Alfie is up-to-date on shots, and neutered.
