Charlotte

Charlotte is a 2 year old female pit bull with the biggest puppy dog eyes! She is about 50 lbs but could loose a little weight. She's very affectionate, loving, playful and smart. She has learned many commands including, sit, wait, down, up, off and back. She loves tug of war and chasing balls but she's not the best at bringing them back.

She also loves to play with other dogs. She currently lives with 3 other dogs and she loves them all. She politely bows or does a little tap dance to get them to play. Charolotte loves other dogs so much we would really like to find her a home with another dog or a home where she could run off leash at a dog park and play.

Charlotte is housebroken and crate trained. She loves her crate. Whenever she needs a break, she goes into her crate for a nap. She also doesn't bark and she gets along with cats.

Charlotte also loves to cuddle with her foster parents. She is thrilled to curl up with them on the couch with her head in one of their laps. She also loves tummy rubs.

Charlotte really just loves life. She also loves to meet new people.

Charlotte has an incredible story. She is from Merced. When she arrived at the shelter, she had been trying to give birth to her puppies for two days. They had all died inside of her. She was rushed to the vet who was able to save her.

She is also very cute with ears that stick straight up and a tongue that seems a little too big for her mouth. She is a beautiful toffee and white color. Her eyes are also toffee and are very soft and kind.

10/3/2009 Update

We took Charlotte to the Wonder Dog fundraiser at Docs Clock bar in the mission on Saturday night. She was the life of the party! She wanted to say hi to everyone. Most dogs seemed overwhelmed in the crowded bar but not Charlotte. She greeted everyone who walked past us. In fact, she made so many friends, people kept coming back to see her! We brought a bag of treats and she did her tricks for the crowd.

She looks like a real sweetheart. Hope she finds a forever home real soon.

Very Smart Dog

I met Charlotte yesterday, and wow she's a very intelligent dog. I have no doubt that she can be trained to do just about anything, including becoming a therapy dog !
