Raja - WDR Hospice and Fearless Mascot
Raja, Wonder Dog’s good-natured and beloved mascot, came to us with a severe epileptic disorder. Linda took one look into his deep chocolate eyes, and knew he was a special bulldog – WDR had to help him! Raja, like any Wonder Dog, deserves the best care available, but because his condition is so severe, WDR needed to keep him close to keep a careful eye on his progress – and our Mascot has since nuzzled his way into all of our hearts. he has always been a great asset to the rescue, not only representing the love and care our dogs receive, but also working hard as a puppy ambassador and greeter to new rescue dogs. team Raja/Linda have helped bring countless unadoptable, shut-down dogs to a place where they can feel safe, loved and part of the pack, essential to adoption.
although he may not appear ill as he clowns around our mobile adoptions and fund raisers, making funny faces and odors, he is indeed dangerously ill. a few days ago Raja had a series of seizures which required immediate medical attention - our dear, sweet Raja is currently in Veterinary Emergency care and vigilant 24hr surveillance at Mission Pet Hospital. we are still piecing together what has caused his latest downturn, and are investigating along with MPH Dr. Gordon liver failure or possible brain tumors. we are crossing our paws and doing our best to see the little guy through.
Wonder Dog Rescue asks you send positive energy and love his way, and hopes and wishes for his recovery. as Linda is beside him through this, we also ask that you send good thoughts and support her way. it is never easy to see a loved one through illness, and in the most brutal cases death. Linda, being the gentle-hearted loving soul that she is, is often in the position of holding paws and comforting unadoptable dogs, nursing pups through, no matter what it takes. our Raja has over the last few years (he is a young pup, just barely 4) secured a special place in our hearts, and to Linda has become like a son. please, take a moment to think of our dear Raja, think of him happy and healthy and bursting with energy.
Wonder Dog Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer based organization – although rich in karma, WDR adoption fees and donations are what make this all possible. please consider adopting your next dog from Wonder Dog - or donating to Wonder Dog Rescue toward Raja’s care.
you may donate by going to the "How You Can Help" link above. ANY donation appreciated - we spay/neuter all the animals that we foster, we feed and clothe (when needed) the little guys, make sure they are up to date on their shots, and provide any needed veterinary care. Raja’s story is one of many, each a special, individual case - WDR has given so many loving dogs a second chance to enjoy a life full of happiness, confidence, and treats.
thank you for your support, and for being Wonder-ful you!
