UPDATE 10/10: He is an amazing little guy: so sweet and funny with people, but not good with other animals. Jasper needs a home that has experience with dog aggressive dogs. Jasper is neutered now, but he is still very aggressive towards other dogs. He will not be placed in a home with children under the age of 12. UPDATE: 7/10 JJ is healing beautifully: most of the Demodex is gone, his ears are much healed and his bad rear leg has toned up to were he barely limps at all. His dog aggression issues are still "there" but much improved. Once he's neutered alot of his "dark side" will go away. We also feel he's VERY trainable. He's a riot with a sweet and funny personality sure to make you laugh after a long day at the salt mines. UPDATE: 5/10 Jasper is settling in and doing so much better. He is phenomenally sweet, loving and SO grateful to be with people. He does NOT like cats. We are looking for a foster home where Jasper will be the ONLY dog right now.... one which can continue his socializing. Jasper is probably 14 pounds and could stand to gain a little weight. He is under two years of age... maybe between 1.5 - 2 yrs?

We rec'd a call for help from a northern CA shelter... to see if we could help a young male boston.... I almost cried when I saw him... one of the worse cases of neglect that I've personally seen. He has horrible fly strike and demodex... has obviously been living outdoors for a long time, and we must check for heartworm. His back paw is deformed... his two front paws are inflammed and the joints are distorted. Is this genetic or from neglect and bad nutrition?

Despite this, his spirit is intact. He loves to play with water if you run the hose... jasper is cuddly and caring. He is *learning* how to get along with other dogs. We took these photos after his bath. He's got quite a lengthy road to recovery and those front legs will never heal properly.... but he's going to be okay, and will be a fabulous companion dog for a lucky person or family. This guy has TONS of love and he showers it freely upon you!
