Nimoy (formerly Harley ) Check out what his mom has to say about him !!!
Sweet Nimoy was adopted from Wonder Dog a while back, he is being returned due to an out of state move :( He is an amazing little guy with so much to offer his new family.. He's roughly 25 pounds and around 3 y/o...
Here is what is mom has to say about him --
~ very well behaved, knows basic commands - sit, stay, wait, heel,
come - and responds well to positive reinforcement training
~ really great disposition - incredibly sweet, easy to love, playful,
adapts quickly to many situations
~ walks very nicely on leash, loves to run around outside
~ healthy, on Sentinel for heartworm & fleas, up-to-date on shots (can
provide health records)
~ friendly with people, but not overly so, although he will go in for
a quick nose lick/nip if someone bends down and offers
~ sleeps in his own bed, but would be very happy to share your blanket
~ quiet and calm at home, playful outside, rides well in the car,
really doesn't bark much except during play and occasionally at shapes
in the dark, he also snores, snorts, and barks in his sleep
~ friendly and playful (Boston terrier style) with other dogs with a
few caveats - he can be quite forward when meeting other dogs,
especially when they are both on leash, and that is too much for some
dogs (we have been working on focusing on me/treat when passing other
dogs on leash); he has had a few bad interactions with intact male
dogs, so we avoid those situations; he does sometimes attempt to hump
some small dogs, though certainly not all and not all the time (mostly
in overstimulating situations) and he generally "listens" when the
tell him that's not o.k.
~ he has spent time with cats (dog sitters both have indoor cats), he
is interested, but will back off quickly when they tell him to
~ doesn't care much for toys or chewing, unless they involve treats or
playing with people or other dogs; a bit "obsessed" with sticks and
stick-like objects, so much so that he will go after the chuck-it wand
rather than the ball and that can be an issue at dog parks, but we
have been working on the "leave it" and "drop it" commands when it
comes to sticks
Please let me know if there is anything else that would be helpful for
you to know. I have attached new several pictures - I think they do
him justice, but he doesn't really love the camera and is so much
better in person.
You can meet Nimoy at our mobile adoption THIS Saturday, it is best if you fill out an application before hand to make sure you are guaranteed and meet and greet with him :)
