Meet Dori! Dori was surrendered to San Jose Animal Care and Control. Her previous owners claim they did not have the time or space for her, as she was given to them as a “gift”. This was one of the worst ideas the “gifter” could have made. The owners deprived Dori of proper training and socialization. Dori is just now realizing that people want to pet her and spend time with her, she is almost shocked that she is getting attention. She came to us extremely matted and slightly underweight. Currently she is decompressing and getting used to receiving the attention she deserves. We are looking for an experienced foster or adopter to help Dori. She has slight issues with resource guarding. She is good with dogs until it comes with sharing resources. We think with time and consistent training these behaviors will go away. The training is not hard, but it must be consistent. We are also *always* willing to work with less experienced fosters and adopters if they are willing to follow Wonder Dog's protocols and training. We would really love to hear from you! Please don't hesitate to reach out. If you would like more information on Dori or are interested in adopting, please fill out the adoption form.
