10 Years Old
Meet Lola! She is truly a Wonder Dog in every sense of the word! This 10 year old girl was discovered in terrible shape. When she arrived at the animal shelter she had a broken jaw, an eye out of the socket, dehydrated and undernourished, with uncontrolled diabetes, and mammary tumors.
They wired her jaw, put her eye back in the socket and stitched it in, rehydrated and fed her, and started her on insulin. That’s when she came to the sanctuary where she has been ever since. This girl has been through so much, yet she always has a wagging tail and grateful eyes. She loves to be cuddled and held and has a great appetite. We still have some work to do with her medically, but Lola is a resilient and happy girl! She is such a joy to be around!
Thank you for considering to foster or adopt a Hospice or Special needs dog with Wonder Dog Rescue. Many of these dogs live fairly normal lives, with the addition of daily medications. Others take a bit more effort if a dog has special dietary needs or needs to go out to potty more often. The reward is the love that these incredible beings give so freely to you. Once smitten, you will be deeply touched!
As a thank you for choosing to adopt a Wonder dog who is hospice or has special needs, Wonder Dog Rescue will provide lifelong support for your dog by covering his/her costs for medical care. Details regarding this coverage will be provided during the adoption process.
