Before and After, A Tale of Two Dogs

It is so important to remember that many of these dogs that shut down in a shelter just need quiet space and a little bit of patience and attention. Unfortunately shelters in this country were never built to contain the number of dogs and other animals who are stray or surrendered. At San Francisco Animal Care and Control, staff and volunteers help to socialize the animals, and work with many rescues to save many of these lives.

This video shows Twiggy and Wally - both whom had shut down due to noise and stress. When brought to a quiet room to socialize, they were both calm, quiet and sweet as can be.

Sometimes it is just that simple.
