Wonder Farm, our sanctuary in Penngrove, CA, has several part-time positions available. You must be able to frequently travel to the farm's location. Please read the details for each position for requirements and how to apply.

Sanctuary & Programming Director


 

This is a paid, contract position.


Wonder Farm is looking for a cheerful, detailed and motivated individual to help expand our animal sanctuary. The role requires approximately 25 hours per week. Work is performed remotely and on location, depending on the tasks. The position is supervised primarily by the Executive Director.

The ideal candidate will have:
    •    previous experience working at a farm or animal sanctuary/rescue

    •    the ability to schedule and manage their own workload with minimal supervision

    •    a flexible and self-managing work ethic

    •    the ability to schedule and manage his/her own workload with minimal supervision.




Responsibilities:
    •    Oversee research, needs, development and growth of the sanctuary.

    •    Conduct outreach for volunteers at the sanctuary and for all events.

    •    Implement training protocols for volunteers, creates a manual and procedures.

    •    Act as main contact person for volunteer orientations and scheduling (examples of volunteer tasks include scheduling animal-related laundry, daily mucking, grooming the animals, weeding or cutting grass, general grounds maintenance, etc)

    •    Insures that animal and maintenance supplies are always available (hay, pellets, fly masks, halters, cleaning products, etc)

    •    Can step in to help with cleaning if necessary (mucking)

    •    Collaborate with Executive Director and Marketing Director (zoom meetings or in person) to establish needs and priorities, identify fundraising opportunities, and create special events and educational programs.

    •    Helps identify potential sponsors and/or locations for events.

    •    Liason with veterinary care for farm animals and dogs. Schedules vet appointments as needed. Takes animals to the vet occasionally, schedules in-home vet care.

    •    Must have a good driving record if using our vehicle

Administrative, Foster Communications & Adoptions Assistant

This position is for a Volunteer intern.

As Wonder Farm develops its new animal sanctuary, a 5 acre farm in Penngrove, CA, we are offering a unique opportunity for a cheerful, detailed and motivated individual to learn the day-to-day tasks involved with running an animal rescue. The role requires approximately 25 hours per week. Work is performed remotely and on location, depending on the tasks. The position is supervised primarily by the Executive Director.

The ideal candidate will have:

• at least 5 years of experience with dog/animal rescue

• strong administrative skills

• a flexible and self-managing work ethic

• the ability to schedule and manage his/her own workload with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:
• Email, text, phone correspondence with shelters, potential fosters, potential adopters
• Coordinating the pick up of dogs from shelters (some driving desirable)
• Preliminary vetting of new dogs
• Scheduling vet appointments for the dogs
• Cleaning dog areas
• Learn how to screen potential adopters and set up meetings (during SIP, online via Zoom)
• Provide administrative support to the Executive Director
